Answer: I think you have to keep in mind a couple of things with some of the fighters that I will refer to as old guard. They have helped establish the Ufc and MMA over several or more years and many are not young fighters. Secondly it is just like any other sport; once developed it evolves and tactics, strategy, and technique as well as training methods get more sophisticated. Old guard fighters in many cases have had to alter their training, strategy and redevelop themselves to stay competitive and/or on top. Eventually their bodies, abilities and skill may not be enough to stay there as newer, younger fighters come on the scene and gain in experience. Look at boxing and the heavy weight division; people are attracted to and watching fighters that have been fighting for twenty plus years who are in the twilight of their careers based on what they did in their prime. While I don't think you will see that so much in MMA and the Ufc there is a whole new generation coming onto the scene who may not be familar to everyone and have a huge fan base like the old guard fighers do but that will change with time. Twenty years from now you will be saying, "I watched Couture or Lidell do this or do that" or "I watched him when he was fighting so-and-so". You are literally seeing the birth of a new sport and while I think many of us will miss the old guard fighters there are some up-and-coming fighters that will take their places whom the fans will embrace and follow.

What are some helpful tips in UFC Undisputed for submission?

I have been playing Ufc Undisputed 09. Like most players ive had troubles with submissions. I went thru the guide over and over looked here and there online and they said the same thing. I got good submitters and fought people with low submission defense on easy and still cant make them tap. I know how to submit em but just doesnt work. Looking for advice, hints, tips etc. Thanks.
Answer: You have to be able to crank the fuck out of the stick. I use my palm instead of my thumb. Just put the stick right in the center of your palm and spin the shit out of it.

Answer: Other org. are growing, such as k-1 Heroes, strikeforce, elitexc, and now m-1. Only time will tell if they grow big enough to compete with Ufc. Monopolies are ALWAYS bad, competition always helps to excel and have higher standards, in this case to treat the fighters better. Ufc currently has NO ranking system, they decide who to have title shots based on fighter marketability.

Isnt the Ufc just a combination of Wrestling (Greek), Boxing, and traditional Martial arts. Yah I watch it, and counting all the different traditional martial arts is like a crap load
Answer: Actually there are many more styles. For example, freestyle wrestling (Koscheck, Hughes, Ortiz etc). There are only 3 fighters that I'm aware of that use Greco Roman and those are Lindland, Couture and Henderson. Also for standup there's kickboxing (Taylor, Cummo, Crocop etc) as well as muay thai (Vera, A. Silva, W. Silva etc). Then there's brazilian jiu jitsu which is used by pretty much every fighter off their back. There are much more to list but I'm too lazy.

Why do UFC fighters get paid less compared to other professional athletes?

NFL NBA MLB all get paid more than Ufc fighters and the Ufc fighters take the most punishment it doesnt seem fair to me. And there is a shit load of money coming from the pay per view and clothing line so what happens to that?
Answer: NFL, NBA, MLB generates more money than the Ufc. I think that Ufc fighters should be paid more, and get a cut of the video game profits and merchandise using their name/likeness. PPV cuts only go to about the top 6-7 guys right now, I think every fighter should get a chunk of the PPV's that they appear on, even if a fraction of a percent.

Why do UFC fighters not wear head gear to prevent cauliflower ears?

It seems as if you see so many fighters with cauliflowers ears, which from what i heard is pretty painful. I wrestle for my high school, and they make us wear head gear. So why dont they wear head gear in the Ufc and other MMA organizations to prevent cauliflower ears or any other infections?
Answer: it is painful as F&%*k to get these, feels like someone ripped off your ear and poured salt in the wound. But it aint just wrestlers. Rugby players, judokas and boxers walk around with these too. Any blow you get on your ears can cause it. Be it fists or clashing heads. Basically you are watching fighters who already have these. Wearing protection is not going to make it go away. We do wear it in practice and training, but I see a lot of guys that think they do not need it and that this is part of it all. I assume for a professional fighter, that could play a role. Not sure on your experience, but using protection cap or such in an MMA fight doesn't work out. You will have to stop the fight every minute to have fighters re-adjust their headgear. Plus, it may cut your opponent - or vice versa. I've seen that happen too. But you cannot deny that walking around with such an ear has a lot of trouble makers think twice before bothering you... :-P

How is UFC and mma legal sports in the usa if they allow people to do drugs ?

Ufc and MMA allow people to do steroids they dont even do drug tests how is it legal? FYI they arent even blood tested and they can spread their diseases in the ring. Answer: Your question is so inaccurate its not even funny. ALL Ufc fighters are randomly tested year round, and almost every fighter in a particular show is drug tested. MMA has the lowest rate of positive drug tests of any professional sports. Likewise, your claim that they aren't blood tested is laughable. The fighters (Ufc anyway) are required to get routine workups from their doctors prior to their fights. The required tests include blood, neural, and nervous system tests. More than one fighter has been pulled from a card because of a problem that cropped up at their physical (for instance, Thiago Alves was recently pulled from a card when his doctor detected a neural abnormality that he was unaware of. He had surgery and was back in the gym 3 weeks later). Any fighter found to have a transmissible blood borne illness cannot receive a license to fight in any state in the U.S. In fact, according to the Journal of Sports Medicine and Science: "MMA fighters are given more care and precaution than athletes in any other sports organization in the world. With supervised fights, pre and post‐fight MRIs, four ringside doctors and two ambulances in case of emergency at each event and mandatory steroid testing – these organizations reach the highest levels of safety and quality in all aspects of the sport. Safer than boxing, no organization fighter has ever suffered a serious injury or death." Next time, do a bit of reading before you start making such uneducated statements. Edit: Oh really? You got a cite to support that or are you just pulling more crap out of your @ss? Brock Lesnar is one of the most heavily tested professional athletes of all time. Never once - not even back in his high school and college days - has he ever tested positive for steroids or any other illegal drug. I DARE YOU to prove otherwise.

How would UFC fights be different if there were no rules and fight to the death?

I dont know much about Ufc but its entertaining to watch. My question is, what moves arent allowed? And if banned moves were allowed and the fight was to death, how much different would the fights look? Would the same fighters/ styles be just as dominant? Would the fighters be more conservative or more aggressive? I know its a bit of a morbid question but Im just curious thats all.
Answer: They would suck, because everyone would just always go for the eyes and the balls. In the Ufc, a lot of moves aren't allowed. You can't knee or kick an opponent to the head when he is on the ground (like you can in Pride). You can't strike the back of an opponent's head (i.e. brain stem). You can't grab or pull your opponent's hair or clothing. And you can't do any small joint locks (I guess cuz they don't want a bunch of fighters with broken fingers and thumbs). That's why MMA competitions are a lot different than "self-defense" which would include small joint locks, which are of course, super effective. I don't care how big some guy is. If you break his pinky, he's gonna be crying like a little bitch. I think the fighters would be more afraid of being hit, but I still think the same fighting styles would be in there. Muay Thai, jiu-jitsu, judo, boxing, wrestling would still be the most effective, cuz they're the most effective in real life!

How would I register to become a UFC fighter?

I am planing on joining the Ufc in a few years and I started to wonder how would I register for the Ufc?
Answer: Start off with smaller and local professional mma promotions. With a pro record, you can then take part in The Ultimate Fighter. If you get it and even win it, you will have more chance/get offered a contract for Ufc. In my source i have a really good website which tells you how to get into Ufc.

How do i become a UFC fighter when im older?

Hi, im 15 and have been doin BJJ for 6 months, and Muay thai for 2 years, when im older i want to fight in the Ufc, wat age did alot of people in the Ufc start training in martial arts? and should i just start fighting in competitions when im 18 or is now the best time? also should i start conditioning myself now or when im older? please if you have any other tips, add.
Answer: 1. Get on the Highschool Wrestling Team - if you can't defend and get takedowns, you will suck at MMA. It also gets you accustomed to cutting weight and getting into a mindset to fight. You'll get 20-30 free fights. 2. You can't get a fight until you are over 18. Then you just have to win 10+ pro MMA fights without losing more than once, build a reputation, and then get lucky. 3. You probably shouldn't be taking any live shots to the head until you are 18 as your brain is still developing. 4. Get in a gym where other MMA fighters train. They will know when you are ready.
